With a background in health care leadership and academic medicine, I have a deep understanding of what it means to lead people and programs, and how to leverage strengths and overcome barriers to achieve our goals. I find joy in cultivating the careers of others, especially those who have been historically underrepresented in leadership.
A bit more about me ... I grew up in Amherst, MA and attended the University of Massachusetts where I studied Art History. In my late 20s, I returned to school to study Medicine and Public Health, completing my MD and MPH at Tufts University. I also completed a health services research fellowship and a master's degree in Health Professions Education. I spent the first 20 years of my career at the San Francisco General Hospital and University of California San Francisco. Since returning to the East Coast in 2017, I have served as a Department Chair of Family Medicine, first at Maine Medical Center and now at Dartmouth Health and Geisel School of Medicine.
I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed, especially when we define success for ourselves and determine our own path to achieve it. In my experience mentoring and teaching hundreds of students and faculty, I know how easy it is to face challenges alone and assume that success is simply a matter of good luck. Because we don't actively seek input and guidance along the way, we miss the opportunity to examine and explore our path forward.
I know that change can lead to growth if we are willing to look, listen and learn.
I am excited to work with clients seeking to thrive in their current role or transition to something new. Coaching is a unique opportunity to explore who we are, what we are looking for, and how we will achieve our full potential. I am committed to creating courageous and safe spaces and am honored to partner with people on their journey.
Beth has been my guiding light during a significant transitional phase in my career. Her coaching played a pivotal role in closing one chapter and getting me to start writing the next. Her support and guidance have illuminated the path so that I can see what is possible. ~C.B.

Beth’s professional coaching was the best guidance I didn’t even know I needed. Even though I struggled to define what I wanted to be coached on at first, Beth was able to quickly help me pinpoint areas of strain and reframe the story I was telling myself. At 8mes I instantly felt lighter! She created a comfortable and safe but challenging space to work though issues holding me back - and usually with a lot of laughing too. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help point me in the direction of becoming my best work self. ~C.M.

Beth is an absolutely brilliant Coach! She’s exceptionally savvy about the complex environment and challenges of a large academic center, and her extraordinary emotional intelligence and perspective-taking ability make her an invaluable sounding board. I consistently look forward to our meetings as a highlight of my week. Her wisdom, warmth, and wit make it great fun to talk with her---even when we are working on something hard. ~M.M.
